Animal Sculpture Collection

My bronze animal sculptures are the result of a lifelong passion. Each commission or piece in my Contemporary Sculpture Collection is crafted to embody not just the creature's appearance, but its essential nature. The cheetah, the elephant, the lion and the bull are all depicted with stylised energy, symbolising their ultimate qualities, whether it's power, grace or monumental presence.

Figurative Sculpture Collection

Parallel to my animal works, my Figurative Bronze Art explores the lines and confidence of the female form. Early in my art journey, I set out to convey strength and underlying grace, blending classical beauty with a contemporary, sometimes humorous, perspective. Some of my Abstract Human Sculptures are inspired by opera and music, infusing each piece with movement, emotion and a touch of theatricality.

How Your Bronze Sculptures Are Produced

Behind every Phaedra Fine Art sculpture is a process combining traditional craft and contemporary artistry. I start by modelling each design in clay, meticulously shaping the details that will define the personality of the final piece. Once the clay model is complete, I work with a dedicated team using the lost wax casting method, a centuries-old technique for creating high-quality foundry bronze sculptures.

 

 

The Art and Craft of Lost Wax Bronze Casting: From Clay to Timeless Sculpture

The journey involves making a mould from the clay original, producing a wax version, then forming a ceramic shell around it. Molten bronze is poured in, replacing the wax with genuine metal. After cooling, skilled hands weld, refine and patinate the sculpture, imbuing it with rich tones and lasting finish.

I'm fortunate to work alongside Judy Wallace, who helps construct armatures and support my creative vision, and Isla Mckenzie-Doyle of The Bronze Art Foundry, whose expertise in every stage of lost wax casting is crucial for achieving the high standards of my commissioned and bespoke bronze pieces.

My Work with Humans and Animals

My artistic journey began with studies of the female form, resulting in striking Abstract Human Sculptures that convey both poise and vivacity. Over time, my attention shifted toward animals, a direct reflection of my lifelong fascination with their beauty and raw character. This transition felt natural; animals offer endless inspiration with their diversity and symbolic resonance, which I interpret in personally meaningful ways. Now, through Phaedra Fine Art, I create bronze animal sculptures that speak to collectors, animal lovers and art aficionados across the UK and overseas, always aiming to capture the unique qualities of each subject.

Quality in Every Piece

Every sculpture I create at Phaedra Fine Art is a limited edition, with no more than twelve casts of each model, ensuring exclusivity and individuality for every collector. I work only with genuine foundry bronze, using skilled hands and traditional techniques to bring artistic visions to life. My aim is to blend contemporary design with timeless craftsmanship, honouring both material and muse in every finished piece. Ten percent of my profits are donated to charities, making each purchase a meaningful act of support as well as a source of beauty.
