Cheetah Sculpture
The Hunt!
My bronze Cheetah sculpture captures a cheetah in the heart of the chase: a breathtaking moment of nature's drama frozen forever. This Cheetah sculpture, crafted in genuine foundry bronze using the lost wax technique, is part of my collection at Phaedra Fine Art. The dynamic pose, inspired by contemporary fine art traditions, shows the animal changing direction mid–pursuit, showcasing raw energy, movement and the athletic grace of this stunning predator.

The Story Behind the Cheetah Sculpture
For me, the cheetah is the ultimate symbol of agility, power, and relentless pursuit in nature. This cheetah sculpture captures the animal at a split second of decision, twisting instantly as it closes in on unseen prey. I wanted to convey the tension and vitality of the chase, the muscled form, the intensity of concentration, and the sudden change of direction that could mean life or death. By leaving out the prey, I invite you to use your imagination to finish the story. As part of my practice at Phaedra Fine Art, this Cheetah statue not only celebrates the beauty and athleticism of wildlife, but also reflects my passion for animal subjects in contemporary fine art sculpture.
How My Bronze Sculpture is Made
Creating a fine art bronze sculpture like this cheetah requires patience, skill, and a sincere love for both art and the animal world. I begin by modeling the cheetah in clay, capturing every sinew and line of movement. Next, I use the lost wax method, a centuries–old technique that allows for intricate details and a unique character in each work.
Key steps in the lost wax process:
Model Making
I craft the original Cheetah in clay, refining details so the muscle and motion come alive.
Mold Making
A silicone rubber or plaster mold is taken from the clay.
Wax Reproduction
Hot wax is poured in, building up a hollow but faithful copy. This is carefully chased, or smoothed, until just right.
Spruing
Wax rods are attached to create channels for molten metal flow and air escape.
Investment
This wax model is dipped repeatedly in ceramic slip to form a shell, then fired, melting out the wax.
Casting
Molten bronze is then poured into the hot ceramic mold.
Finishing
Once cooled and the shell is broken away, I clean, chase and apply a patina, giving the bronze that rich, characteristic depth you see.
The limited edition principle means only 18 casts like this cheetah statue will exist, each one completed by myself, numbered and authenticated for collectors and art lovers.
